The 5 podcasts every entrepreneur should be listening to

Podcasts have really blown up in the past couple of years, with more and more people using them as a go-to source of information and entertainment. According to Podcast Insights, there are more than 2 million podcasts broadcasting worldwide, with over 48 million episodes between them. Podcasts are a great way to boost your knowledge, maximise downtime and can be listened to wherever and whenever is convenient.

Whatever your interests are, there’s likely to be a podcast out there covering them, and business and entrepreneurship is no exception. So, which podcasts should entrepreneurs looking for inspiration and insights be listening to?

Entrepreneurs on Fire

Hosted by John Lee Dumas, this podcast has been delivering actionable tips on succeeding in the world of entrepreneurship since 2012. There are now more than than 2,000 episodes available, featuring conversations with some of the biggest names in business. Barbara Corcoran, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Tony Robbins are just a few of the amazing entrepreneurs whom JLD has interviewed over the years.

Each episode is about 45 minutes long and, at the end of each episode, you’ll get even more specific advice on how to be better than average founders.

The Failory Podcast

The Failory Podcast, hosted by Brandon Handoko, focuses on ‘destigmatizing’ failed start-ups. He shares anecdotes and start-up horror stories that will make you laugh and help you grow as an entrepreneur.

Failure is an inevitable step on the path to success, and the great thing about this podcast is that it helps take away some of the fear of failure associated with starting a business. Handoko puts failure in context and allows listeners to see failure as a learning experience and an opportunity for growth.

Listen Money Matters

Andrew Fiebert and Matt Giovanisci created this podcast after Andrew had a string of bad financial luck.

Andrew Fiebert is a serial entrepreneur who has started multiple successful companies but he’s also had his share of failure, much of which he attributed to poor financial management. That’s what inspired him to start this podcast about managing personal finances for entrepreneurs to help others avoid the same financial mistakes he made early on in his career. His insights are beneficial for any entrepreneur and for people managing their personal finances also.

Smart Passive Income

This is one of the most popular podcasts for entrepreneurs, and for a good reason. The host, Pat Flynn, focuses on topics of interest to entrepreneurs, including e-commerce, marketing, and lifestyle design. And the guests are amazing. Tim Ferris and Gary Vaynerchuk have both appeared on this show! They share their best business practices with you, alongside tips on how to start your own business (and not just by doing what everyone else does).

Hack the Entrepreneur

Hosted by Jon Nastor, Hack the Entrepreneur is dedicated to developing an online business. It shares tips and tricks related to online entrepreneurship and insights from founders who have built their businesses from scratch. Guests share the step-by-step process from the birth of their initial business idea to bringing the business online and making it successful.

If you’re a freelancer or thinking about taking your brick-and-mortar business online or even starting a new venture entirely with an online presence, this is one of the best podcasts.
